Derek Condit has taken his life experiences and vast knowledge on diverse subjects to developing a website putting home owners in charge. Home owning is complex with structural problems including electrical, plumbing and construction. Derek’s interest in home inspection came from being a business and home owner required to deal with these problems. This interest led him to take a college course required to be certified as a Home Inspector for the State of Washington. That course taught Derek how complex home owning really was with regulation changes, recalls and hidden hazards few people know of. The course also showed him how to determine regulations that change with locations in different states.
To help him organize the staggering amount of information about home inspections, Derek created a computer program allowing A.I. to quickly provide relevant information. Then he improved on the program by providing necessary information allowing A.I. to evaluate photographs, without requiring the expensive onsite inspection where photographs are taken to document problems.

Nancy Hopkins has owned her home for 40 years. Most problems were solved with Nancy assisted by experienced “handymen”. Nancy herself spent 25 years as a maintenance engineer for a massive condominium with 21 floors and 400 units. But as the house got older, so did Nancy. Simple projects became “problems” and all the handymen retired. Today handymen are hard to find, replaced by businesses that often disappoint. Now there are permit requirements and extensive regulations to contend with.
Derek’s program is like her own experienced inspector. By knowing exactly what is required by regulations, she has a way of knowing if a company is doing what they are required to do and if it is being done correctly. And the remedies that she learns how to do are often very easy to do the right way or is given suggestions as to where and what to look for in hiring a company makng that less intimidating.
